Fuel to Perform

To perform at your peak, you need to fuel your body correctly. A favourite of many of our 776BC athletes after training is bircher muesli. After a training session, your body is craving nutrients. This recipe contains the vital food groups necessary to replenish the body; oats for carbohydrates, fruit for glucose and dairy for protein. Serves: 2



1 cup grated apple

1 cup oats

1/2 cup apple/orange juice

1/2 cup milk of choice

Handful of slivered almonds

Handful sultanas

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 cinnamon

2-3 tablespoons yoghurt of choice

Optional: 1/2 cup frozen berries or dried fruit.

Method: 1) Place all ingredients except yoghurt in container/jar. 2) Shake container 3-4 times to combine ingredients. 3) Stir in yoghurt until desired consistency 4) Refrigerate overnight. Share your favourite training fuel on Instagram using the hashtags #776BC #FuelToPerform
