It's On Again, the Australian Boat Race.

by Kate McKenzie-McHarg on October 23, 2014

776BC is proud to once again partner with the Australian Boat Race, which returns to Sydney Harbour this weekend to continue the fierce rivalry between Australia’s top universities, Melbourne and Sydney University. The Australian Boat Race has a special meaning for 776BC, with co-founder Cameron McKenzie-McHarg having raced in the Men’s Eight for Melbourne University over the last 3 years. The event consistently serves up more than just a boat race with the last three characterised by tight contests, oar clashes, photo finishes and protests as these two University’s dual for the prestigious title. 776BC has provided the racing suits for both universities for the last 3 years. The suits are the result of collaboration with some of Australia’s best rowers to develop the ultimate performance rowing suit. The Australian Boat Race suits have been crafted by designs that blend the traditional colours and design cues of Australia’s oldest universities, with 776BC’s contemporary performance led style. The 2014 suits incorporate enhanced technical performance features including liquid titanium fabric for superior temperature regulation and moisture management, and improved comfort and performance. 776BC’s focus is always to develop performance garments that allow the athlete to focus 100% on producing their best performance. Experience demonstrates that the athletes racing this year will need to block out all the distractions of the crowd, the harbour bridge and the blades of the oppositions boat to make sure it’s their nose in front at the finish line. Good luck to all the athletes racing.
