Dual 2018 World Champions Jessica Fox and Curtus McGrath OAM have taken out the top awards a the 2018 Paddle Australia Awards.
Jessica Fox has been celebrated for her tremendous season in which she became the most successful individual slalom paddler and the greatest female slalom paddler in the history of the sport. Awarded with the Paddler of the Year and President’s Award, Fox dedicated the latter to her late grandfather, her mother Myriam’s father and French Olympic medal-winning slalom coach Albert Tobelem, who passed away in Marseille, France last week.
The night, however, wasn’t only about Fox with a number of other awards presented to other exceptional athletes and members within the paddling community. Paralympic Champion Curtin McGrath OAM, who also had a record breaking season finishing undefeated, was awarded Paracanoeist of the Year. 776BC would like to congratulate all of the award winners.
