Sarah Tait is a three time Olympian, world champion and Olympic Silver Medalist having claimed Silver in the Women’s Coxless Pair at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Sarah Tait (nee Outhwaite) began rowing when she was 14 and became serious about the sport when she made the Australian junior team at the age of 17. She competed at the 2001 Sydney Youth Olympic Festival, where she won Gold in the eight and Bronze in the double scull.
Sarah was the captain of the Australian rowing team for the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games and the 2010 and 2011 World Rowing Championships. Sarah was the first mother to represent Australia at rowing at an Olympic level, having returned to international competition following the birth of her daughter Leila exactly one year after the 2008 Games.
